Nyaya Health operates a primary health center and community health programs in the town of Saphe Bagar, Achham in the remote region of Far Western Nepal. Achham is one of the poorest and least developed districts in the country, and shoulders some of Nepal's highest HIV and maternal mortality rates. Following a decade-long civil conflict, the health infrastructure of Accham has been ravaged. It is home to 250,000 people who are served by only one doctor. Through the innovative application of epidemiological methodologies, information and communication technologies, and accountable community-based management structures, we seek to develop scalable models for expanding health equity and access to marginalized populations.
