Improving Healthcare for Underserved Communities
Who We Are:
Nyaya Health Nepal (NHN), a non-governmental organization, improves healthcare for underserved communities in Nepal, in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Population as well as provincial and local governments. Together we advance integrated healthcare delivery.
Currently, we work in two service areas: Achham in Far West Province 7 and in Dolakha in Province 3, that was devastated by the 2015 earthquakes.
NHN’s 375 staff annually conduct 150,000 patient visits at hospitals, carry out over 8,000 surgeries and execute more than 125,000 home visits.
What we Do:
Our integrated care delivery system improves primary healthcare:
Government-owned facilities that treat primary care across conditions, including chronic disease, mental health, and surgical care; these centers provide continuous teaching and training for health workers across the health system.
Home-based and group-based longitudinal care delivered by community health workers, using mobile phones to monitor and manage Non Communicable Diseases (NCDs), mental health, reproductive, maternal and child health.
Integrated Electronic Health Record connects community and facility data to support diagnosis, map disease and continuously improve patient care.
Through our global partnership with Possible, we translate research and evidence into scalable solutions that advance universal health coverage and sustainable development goals.
