Subina Shrestha is an award winning Nepali journalist and filmmaker whose work has been shown at festivals around the world and channels including Al Jazeera, BBC World and Arte. Since 2007 she has covered Nepal, and occasionally other Asian countries for Al Jazeera English. Among her recent films is ‘Nepal’s Slave Girls’, which won Broadcast Story of the year at Women’s Empowerment Award, Silver at NY Festivals and merit at Human Rights Press Awards. She was a finalist for the Rory Peck award and the winner of the Concentra Award for Outstanding Video Journalism for her coverage of the aftermath of Cyclone Nargis.
Subina lives and works in Nepal is especially interested in human rights related stories.
